I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
